What a beautiful Alma!!! I ordered mine last week, in Blanc Corail, it’s my very first LV bag, and I can’t wait till next week, when it arrives. The pictures are just lovely, and I think it’s one of the most beautiful lighter purses out there right now..

OMG, your bag is gorgeous with that charm! so for a few months now, i have been going back between the two – Blanc Corail or Bleu Infini. I have gone to two LV stores and walked out with nothing. After a few months of thinking about the two colors, i finally made up my mind & will get the bag this monday. i swear if i had the money, i would just get both as i LOVE this bag…. i originally wanted a white purse and the blanc is so gorgeous, hands down!! between the four colors, this one really caught my eye. i praise you for having such a beautiful white collection. the only reason why i will not be getting the white is because i wear a lot of jeans and i’m so afraid of color transfer and because it’s an expensive one, i think i’m better off with the bleu infini AND for a white purse…well not really white, i’ll also be getting the damier azur speedy 30…. anyway, congras on the purchase. it’s a stunning one!!!!

Hi guys! In the next few weeks I want to buy a new bag and a new wallet and I need some help deciding what to get!

Here are my current LV bags:

I also own several SLG’s.

I know I have duplicates of several bags, but I buy what I like

Anyway, right now I’m thinking about purchasing these bags: delightful mm, tivoli pm, and idylle speedy in fusain. I LOVE the delightful, but I’m afraid it might be too similar to my galliera’s. However, I tried it on in store and I thought it was a lot bigger than my gallieras and the slouch def gave it a different look. I like the tivoli pm but it seems a bit small and handheld bags with vachetta scare me a bit! I also LOVE the idylle speedy, but I’m afraid it might not be as durable in the long run.

Regarding wallets, I’m thinking about: mono zippy and mono insolite with pink interior. I really want a durable wallet, because I’m tough on my wallets (my eugenie is really beat up.) I like the zippy because it seems like it will be durable, but I like the insolite because of the pink interior and all of CC holes. However, I think the snaps might get irritating and I might regret getting pink in the long run.

Anyway, sorry about the long post, but I need opinions please!

I think it is just because of my size. I am only five feet tall and there is just something about the structure of the galliera that works better for me. I love the way the delightful looks, so big and slouchy, but I feel like I tip over like a candy cane. Lol.

Let’s be honest, I’ll probably eventually end up with both bags, so the real question is just what bag to get first?
I voted for Tivoli PM because it adds a bit of variety to your collection but I do think it is a bit small.

I voted for the delightful. Have you considered other lines like epi or vernis? A vernis Alma would make a lovely addition to your fabulous collection!
Sine you already have many pieces from the Monogram, Damier and Damier Azur’s range, consider adding Vernis or Epi to your collection. Else the Idylle would be a good choice.! multicolore speedy.

I have a Tivoli GM and Galliera PM in azur. Since the Tivoli only comes in mono, would suggest that one in mono and later get the Galliera in azur.

I just asked this a few days ago because I was torn and I went with the Tivoli. I feel its easier to get in and out of. Further more, being that the Artsy has that beautiful handle, it will get worn and develop an uneven patina.

My opinion is Tivoli!!!!

I found Tivoli to be really heavy, plus the ends of the straps eventually curl up and I HATE that!

Galliera has the big flashy gold plate which I personally dislike. In fact, I turn my Thames around so I don’t have to look at it!

The beautiful braided handle on the Artsy makes the bag a head turner! It has pockets galore, protective feet, and a slouchy hobo look. Simply stunning!! bag monogram, Galliera vs. Tivoli vs. Artsy! .

I wish I can carry the galliera GM! my friends older sister has the GM and it looks awesome on her. But she’s super tall and I’m 4’11, so I’m gonna have to settle for the PM.
That’s a tough decision! I’d go for the Galliera PM but I love it in Azur a little more! (I have it in both azur and mono)

It would be nice to get a mono for a change but only if you will love it. Can you go to the boutique to try them on and see which one “talks” to you??

I was terrified of this too before getting my speedy! It was my first piece and I got it back in October 2010, and to this day I have yet to get any color transfers. But maybe I’m just lucky and extra careful i do wear jeans with it too, so idk? Maybe my jeans have been overly washed? LOL but yeah the only thing that borthers me is when the vachetta gets dirty (which I just clean with a white eraser), but the azur canvas itself is actually pretty easy to keep clean. I just wipe it with alcohol free baby wipes! you should go for it! I also did a research on used azur Speedys, the patina is way too dark for my liking but when my handles get like that, I think im just gonna get it replace. BUT in all the pictures the canvas itself still looks amazing!

Good to know that the canvas is easy to keep clean. I agree about the vachetta: on mono pieces I like the look of honey-patina, but on azur I like the vachetta very pale, because it just goes better with the white and blue-gray of the canvas. If I owned an azur piece I would limit it’s exposure to sunlight as much as possible and keep it in its dust bag at the end of every day, to keep the vachetta pale for as long a time as possible (although I know that the patina process is inevitable and the leather can’t stay pale forever.) I don’t know if I would replace the leather when it happened though (unless it got really super filthy somehow) because that would get very expensive….but maybe one day I’ll get an azur piece…

I respectfully beg to differ. I have all 3 sizes of azur speedy and plan on getting the totally in azur as well (later this month). It’s all about what makes you happy. The azur print is so clean and “springy” that it makes me smile inside and out

Congratulations – honestly they way l justify me LV purchases is – THEY ARE AN INVESTMENT.. Too bad l have 3 boys and not a girl YET to hand them down to – THEY WILL NEVER EVER DATE, if you take care of them you could still be using them in 10 – 5 years. – now thats a good investment.
5-10 years is an huge under-estimate. LV bags are lifetime bags when taken care of properly.

I use the azur Pochette for passport, wallet, Blackberry so that I can grab it quickly. The Speedy 35 is the perfect size for travel for me

I always use my lovely Mahina L for travelling.

She’s big enough to fit everything, has squeezable texture which is ideal when being put under the seat and her lightweightness is a plus.

second that! I actually love that it does not have a zipper, it is easy to get in and out of and I have never had issues with items coming out of it while travel. Also I have kids so I find this bag to work really well when I am traveling with them too!
Usually I use my Damier NF GM, but my Damier Ebene Galliera, Khaki Neo & Bordeaux Mahina L has made it onto the plane with as well.
i recently carried my Estrela MM and it worked out great. Its fits alot and its lightweight. I wore it crossbody, I used my keychain extender to make it a tad longer because I’m tall. I put my Eva inside with some makeup in it. That way I had two different bags to use while on business/vacation.
I use my Damier Neverfull MM. Such a great bag so I can lug all my stuff and my kids’ stuff! lol…
I am so picky about my LV bags that I don’t like to carry them on the plane. I don’t like putting them through the scanners in those dirty bins or on the floor under a seat. I usually travel with a Coach tote which is still great quality but, less of a fuss.
I travel with my Cabas Mezzo – classifying it as a ‘purse’ when I travel by plane ( so that I can also bring a carryon as well – hehe). Inside are all my toiletries, makeup, and another smaller LV (such as the pochette) which is what I use as my ‘purse’ once I’m at my destination. Inside the pochette are my wallet, cash, and other purse type items I need.

Both these are ME too….I am afraid of getting plane floor dirt or seat grease or icky stuff on my LV’s…so I have always used other totes such as Coach, Tory Burch, or Vera Bradley (I have Vera Luggage set)

So tonight I took a trip to my local LV Boutique an I got my last bag to complete my collection an Azur Speedy 30.. I thought I was going to add a neverfull but went with my love for speedy’s. So this should do it for me as far as bags for a long long time or until I see something I can’t live without.. I may also have to leave the forum because it is too darn hard to resist the urge to buy….

Fess up. How much time have you spent on LV’s website designing mon monogram items in every possible combination?

Would it be crazy to get one without initials? I keep thinking that IF I ever got tired of it the probability of selling it with initials would be slim to none.

And lastly, if you watch the intro (at least for the Speedies) they show one with really cool geometric shapes on it but don’t offer that option on the website. Can you really special, SPECIAL order whatever you want?

I’m becoming obsessed with mon monogram options.
I can only tell you I spent way too much time on the LV website when I was deciding on colors for my mon mono. THEN, I ended up ordering a second one (both Speedies) about six months later because there were just too many pretty choices. Oh, the shame…

I don’t think it would be crazy to get one without initials. Just the colors alone are gorgeous and make the bag so unique. Love that about the mon mono!

My Mon Mono Speedy & NF have the same colors & design and my future Mon Mono Keepall will look just like them!

You can get the mon monogram neverfull in the US, but you have to order it from a physical store. It is still not available online.

I have played with the color options many times over.. but to possibly answer your question regarding the special ‘special’ order.. There is a section on the website called painting, under the personalization services. I really like the idea. If you’re interested you should ask your SA for the details.
I will tell you what my SA said to me about 4 years ago… I was admiring the Speedy, and said I love them but because there are so many of them around I hesitate to get one, and she said they offer “painting” this was before Mon Mono came out.. I said really? what do you mean and she went on to explain that I could get a logo or a family crest of my choice painted on my speedy, including the two stripes. I just had to bring the design to the store, she showed me an example of a simple looking lotus flower… Or I could get just the stripes and my initials/ or a number.. Or I could do just the logo/crest.. or choose just the stripes alone, or the just initials.. You get the idea, it was basically up to me how I wanted it done, they did specify that I could choose only/or up to three paint colors, and that I was to decide where the logo would go on the bag… She then said the Speedy would be made especially for me in France. Much like how they do the Mon Mono now.
I never did get the Painted Speedy then, but I am considering something for my birthday later this fall.

I guess i should have clarified. I meant that I have been told that they used to do the soft sided, but they aren’t doing it now since the mon monogram program started.

In a way, thank God because I think I would have gone insane with custom painting.

So, in an effort to make a good decision, here’s what I’m doing. First, I’m narrowing it down to three choices (still have not decided on initials or not) then use the zoom function on the website to get a nice big picture. I’m then printing that picture on photo paper after which time I will take them all to my closet to see how they look with my wardrobe and probably stand in there for 8 hours.

Then I’ll call LV just to make sure there are no options other than monogram. Then I’ll order and wring my hands for the length of time it takes to arrive, convinced I made the wrong decision.

Sound familiar? LOL

What I want is a summer bag that can be my daily. To me the damier is more fall/winter and I think most of my other bags are also not summery, although I do carry them from time to time. Mono is all year. I am now carrying a blue Epi Petit Noe almost every day, occasionally switched out when I am tired of it and or it doesn’t really match what I’m wearing.

My favorite color combos thus far are:

1. Mustard/light blue
2. Mustard/ fuschia
3. Not decided.

Any ideas?

I seriously think I would win if we added hours on the LV website trying out the different colors. It took me about 6 months to decide. My husband thought I was nuts. Every time I was on the computer he would roll his eyes and say “On purse patrol again?” I finally got it last weekend after one failed attempt (long story) and went in with 2 options which I went over with my SA and with a little bit of help and him confirming what I had been thinking, I ordered it and should have it soon. I am soooooooo excited I can’t stand it:) Good Luck deciding. (I did get initials but I know for a fact I wouldn’t sell it. I think the 30 is a great size. I’m 5’7″ and 130ish. Haven’t gotten on the scale in a few weeks! And I always have shoes on with at least a couple inch heel on so everyone thinks I’m much taller (trying to catch up to my 6’4″ DH!) LOL I always felt the 35 seemed too big for me. I don’t carry enough to fill it up and I don’t particularly like the sag so I went with the 30 for both of my speedies. I honestly think a 32.5 would be a PERFECT size for a speedy. Maybe I’ll suggest that to LV. LOL! Are you able to try them on in a boutique? I think I did this about a half dozen times trying to decide.

I don’t like the sag myself. I use a Purse to Go purse organizer (jumbo size) in my speedy 30s which helps with the sag. Doesn’t eliminate it which is ok by me but it is enough. Good luck deciding! Can’t wait to hear what you get.

Hello,

I am a speedy and Neverfull girl but am trying to decide on something a little different for my anniversary next month. After much researching and confusion (and advice from tpf members), I am leaning towards the Tivoli PM. It looks like a more classy, feminine version of the speedy. I don’t have a store nearby so I need some help please. After spending lots of time looking at clubhouse pictures, I still have some unanswered questions.
Note: Tivoli GM is not an option since one of my close friends is getting it.

1. I find the speedy 25 too small for my frame (I’m 5’3″ and 120 lbs.). Would you compare this bag to a speedy 25 or speedy 30? I checked out the dimensions on the LV site but its hard to visualize.

2. Would this make a great everyday bag for someone who dresses somewhere between classic and trendy? My new go to outfit is a great pair of jeans and sheer button down blouse.

3. If possible would someone post some side by side and modeling comparisons between speedys and tivoli pm?

Hi! I can’t answer your questions, but just want to say that the Tivoli PM is a wonderful bag and more spacious than you’d think! I’ve only had the GM size, but I’m constantly drooling over the PM . I doubt you would ever regret getting it and definitely so much cuter than a Speedy.

Both of my speedies ( mono and damier ebene) are 30′s, so I don’t know how the Tivoli would compare to a 25. The Tivoli is really a different shape from the speedies, the speedy being much boxier. I find that everything I fit in my 30 fits just as well in my Tivoli. Of course, there is more room in the speedy because of the depth, ( speedies can sometimes seem like black or red holes, lol), but I would think that the Tivoli PM would be comparable to a speedy 30. Maybe someone who has a 25 and maybe also has a Tivoli Pm could chime in here and give you a comparison between the two sizes of speedy, but I have a feeling that the 30 is much closer in size to the Tivoli PM.
Thanks, that was exactly what I wanted to hear! The speedy 30 is really the perfect size bag for me. I do carry a lot and the speedy 30 fits it all plus has room to spare on the top (because of it’s black hole type nature). Sounds like the tivoli pm would carry everything snugly and it would be much easier to get into. Thanks so much for this comparison.

I think the epi 30. Keep in mind that the epi speedy 30 is bigger than mono, damier and azur speedies!
Black Alma would be my choice, but I must say that Speedy is more practical.

Based on your height I selected the speedy 35. I prefer the 30 myself, but 35 seems better for taller folks.
IMO, the Alma is great, but can look a bit more formal or business-like and the speedy is more casual. But then again, I use my Alma in casual situations too, I love it that much! I don’t think the size is an issue-I’m 5’2 and my friend, who’s 5’9, tried on my epi Alma and it looked great on her. Good luck on your decision.

Slightly off-topic, but what’s with the use of fakes in movies? Don’t the movie companies get in trouble with LV, or what? I don’t really get it..

Technically, they can, but they dont for one sole reason. Fakes are illegal yes, but if you buy a fake and use it as a prop. it becomes a prop and nothing more. if you buy a fake and pass it as real (and later try to sell it AS real) then you get in trouble. if you buy a fake and sell it saying it’s fake, you get in trouble. Props are the exception because they’re merely objects in a film to depict a certain likeness to a product or item. Moviemakers fake everything, from clothes to jewelry to handbags to even CARS! the studio isn’t making money off of the fake bag, they’re making money off the screenplay, the actors, the direction and cinematography.. the bag is just a TEENY TINY part of the movie, if it even has a part!

PS: all the bags on will & grace, friends, and most other sitcoms except for SATC (that’s not really a sitcom), or Dr. 90210 (or any of those stupid reality shows), are all fake. Like i said, they’re PROPS. the studio isn’t selling the bag, and they’re not gonna waste their money on the bags when they have to shell out $1mil per person per episode of FRIENDS, or almost $1mil per person per episode of W&G’s final season…

Hello everyone,

This is going to be my first LV purchase! I started out with a love for Coach bags and then went onto Gucci. Now, I can’t stop thinking about Louis Vuitton!

I usually like larger bags since I can hold more in it. But I’ve disovered that I am one of those people who just tend to put lots of thing in my purse that I don’t need and find that I get annoyed when it gets too full and heavy. I currently use the large Sukey Gucci and I find that its a little big sometimes.

When I saw the Speedy and Neverfull, I fell in love with both! I just cant decide which is more practical. I am looking at the Azur Canvas. The Speedy 25 or 30 and the Neverfull in the PM and MM. I am quite indesicive when it comes to this decision since I love them both so much.

I love how big the Neverfull is, but it bothers me that there isn’t a zip closure. I also love the room the Speedy has, but I am not sure about the top handle since I like to put my purses over my shoulder…but that could be because I’ve typically been using largers bgs and they are kind of big to be carrying on my arm.

Suggestions?

hey! The fact that the Neverfull doesn’t zip isn’t a problem to me,, when you have it over your shoulder it’s great,, andit does have a closure to help the top stay shut a bit.. it’s a great bag. I have the MM size.. eventually I would love to get a speedy 30 or 35,,, but the fact you can’t put it over your shoulder if you want is not the best thing.. I just love the style of it… I was soo torn b/t a neverful and speedy…. but I adore my neverfull good luck decidiing…
this is a really tough choice! I got the azur speedy, but I still love the look of the neverfull in azur. One of the major reasons i chose not to get the neverfull was because people seemed to be having a lot of issues with the quality of the straps. The other this is that the speedy has more leather. I love the neverfull, but for just a tote with no zipper, the price isn’t really practical. I’m also scared of things falling out of open bags or having some one reach into the bag. I also think the speedy is a great 1st bag!
I just had the same dilemma yesterday and I went with the neverfull mm. I had the speedy 30 at first and exchanged it for the neverfull because I prefer a shoulder bag and I was concerned about color trasfer b/c I tend to wear jeans alot. I will probably get the speedy 30 in the ebene this fall. Good luck deciding !!
I had to make the same decision about a week ago! I went with the Neverfull MM I love it and don’t regret my purchase at all! I prefer a shoulder bag because 1) I’m a mother of a 1 year old and need my hands free to carry her around, 2) I live in my True Religion, Rock and Republic, and Seven for all Mankind jeans and didn’t want to worry about color transfer, and 3) I like that there’s less vachetta on the handles to worry about. A handheld vachetta strap will get dirtier than one over the shoulder.

I’d get the NF in MM, PM is quite small. The bag is pretty deep, so you don’t need to worry about anything falling out. I also prefer shoulder carry over hand-held, and the NF has been the perfect shoulder bag for me. I currently have it in Ebene but am thinking about adding an Azur NF – it’s just the perfect colour and style combination for the upcoming warm weather!
I love my NF GM in Damier Ebene!! I am actually thinking about getting an Azur one sometime soon! Since I got my NF, I have put my Speedy away; it’s just not that practical!
I’d get a speedy before a neverfull….
I would say that if you prefer to wear your bags on your shoulder then get the neverfull.

I have both I have used my NF for years and years, and it is such a great bag. Easy to toss on your shoulder….holds alot, looks good. I have never had any regrets. I have an Azur Speedy 30 as well, and I love her too! Totally different bags. The openess of the NF doesn’t bother me at all, I have an MM. I thought it would, but the bag is deep, so I don’t worry about it. I like the Speedy because it’s more of a “ladylike” bag, and a classic LV. I like the zipper too. Azur is so beautiful! Good luck on your decsion. I don’t think you can go wrong actually. You just need to decide if you want a handheld, or a tote!
I’d get the speedy for your first. I think it is a better design and has better construction so will really give you a true appreciation for LV quality.

I have both as well and love both for different reasons. It really depends on what your needs are and if you prefer a shoulder bag or handheld. I’m currently using my nf gm because I need to haul a lot of stuff around, but if I go out at night (without dbs) then I use my speedy. If you do go with the nf, I would skip the PM because it’s pretty tiny and just doesn’t have the presence that the bigger nfs have. I have a speedy in azur and love it. I couldn’t be happier. I am considering a NF in damier ebene now. I would get the speedy before the NF.! speedy damier ebene 30.

speedy damier ebene 30, Louis Vuitton Women Monogram Multicolore Speedy 30 Noir M92643. The next addition to my collection was a Monogram Musette Salsa in January 2002. It was the first LV bag I purchased at the boutique myself. It was such a rush! This bag has found a new home.

Then, in the summer of 2004 I got my next lot of LV’s. I got a Monogram Speedy 30, a Monogram Pochette Accessoires and a beige Vernis Reade PM.
I still have the Reade, but the other two have found new homes.

In November 2004 I made my 1st eBay purchase, a Monogram Boulogne. It has been sold.

In December 2004 I got my black Epi Petit Noé and Pochette Accessoires, and a black Multicolore Pochette Cles. I love the Epi pieces, it’s such a worry free all weather bag! The Cles has found a new home.

I also got a Monogram Pochette Cosmetique and French Purse wallet. These were unfortunately lost when my bag was stolen a couple of years ago. Here they are pictured with my Monogram Agenda PM, which I still have.

In February 2005 I got some more stuff. I got a Monogram Cabas Mezzo, which I sold shortly after because the straps were just too d*mn short.

This was just as the Cerises was hitting the stores and I also got a Cerises Pochette Accessoires and Pochette Cles, my first pieces of LE Louis Vuitton. They have found new homes as well, I regret that now.

Mostly I was glad to see them go. At the time I was doing most of the buy-sell thing there was no LV store here in Norway, and I mostly mail ordered my bags from LV in Copenhagen, and not being able to try the bags on and check them out IRL before making the purchase was a drawback. This has not been as much of an issue since LV opened here in Oslo in November 2006.

Congrats on your great find! I took my niece resale shopping 2 years ago and stumbled upon an authentic mono speedy 30 (in great condition) for $45. After selling a lot of LVs over the past year due to the economy, I am now ready to purchase again. I am torn between five shoulder bags (I still have my mono speedy 30). My DH does not like damier so it would be a mono.

The galliera in monogram. It’s roomy and its a great everyday bag. Although the azur looks a lot nicer, it gets dirty easier.

Of the five, since you’re wanting an everyday shoulder bag, I’d pick Galliera PM. Tivoli doesn’t stay on shoulder very well, NF and Delightful is no comparison, and Palermo is not a great “shoulder bag.” If you want an all-around bag that you can hand/arm carry or crossbody, then Palermo GM would be great.

I love my BH and I bought it preloved. I did get a deal.
My BH was my first LV and I still love her as much as all the rest of my LV’s.
i will like it and put it on my wish list if neverfull is never exist…
I have the BH and love, love, love it! I sold my Totally because I couldn’t forget the comments about it looking like a diaper bag.
BH was my first LV. Got it brand new two years ago and have been using it almost daily, both for work and shopping. It’s so versatile and I don’t need to baby it. Some may not be used to the open tote but I’ve been using an open tote before I got my BH, so this was not a problem.

Though I’m using my Speedy 30 now, I like to switch back to my BH every once in a while. IMO, it’s really worth every single cent I paid for.

I agree. It looks like a very practical and comfortable tote but in terms of popularity, it is losing to newer and more stylish bags like the Delightful, Galliera, Totally, and now to the newly released models such as the Estrela. It doesn’t look dated to me..but I think in a few years time it will.
I bought my BH about 10 months ago and have worn it only a few times, especially after I got my Totally. But this thread now has me thinking that I should pull it out again and give it another try!

Galliera PM? Depending on where you set the strap buckle it can be hand carried, or it can be slung over a shoulder when you need hands free for the kids.

I think a Retiro PM would be perfect for you! It has similarities to the Speedy, so it would suit your Speedy love, smaller than the Artsy (which IS a big bag), and it is a nice, casual bag. Don’t be put off by the initial stiffness…I have heard that after a month or so it becomes nice and slouchy! And you have a shoulder strap option and could even swap out the original strap with your Speedy B strap for more options (or vice versa). There is a video posted by a tPF member in the club thread, I believe. This could be your bag!

I agree that retiro pm can be a choice for you. I just posted in the retiro clubhouse about mine becoming slouchy now after a month.

Initially, I was going to buy the Speedy B but it looked big on me (5’1) when I tried it as a cross body bag. I ended up getting retiro pm because the shape looks better on me. I bought a monogram canvas strap so I can do the cross body bag. As Etenebris said, you already have your Speedy B strap so you can use that instead.
I think you should really consider a Mon Mono Speedy 30 — such a classic bag that you’ll carry forever.

Hmmm, I see what you mean, but I guess I could specify…these are the placves that I go…my husband’s office, the grocery store, playdates, our tiny local mall, the Little League field, dance class, the grocery store, the park, the post office, the grocery store, and 3-4 nights a week to local diners for dinner with the family. Oh, and now that it’s summer, we go a few times a week to the amusement park/ pool. LOL

I never go on dates, go to movies, nice dinners etc… So pretty much anything really cutesie just seems too much, you know? I need grocery store bags..lol.

My nevefull and now my artsy go with me to all those places except little league !
I had a Tivoli PM but ended up selling it because it was just too heavy. It was beautiful but it was painful to carry on my arm and not convenient to have to carry it hand held all the time. The PM is about the size of a Speedy 25- it can hold a lot but then it’s very heavy–not at all like Speedys.

I hate heavy bags and I love hand-held. That’s how I ended up with six Speedys. I think the Monty is pretty–personally I don’t think it’s a good shoulder bag–I saw one girl carrying it and it was stuffed under her armpit and one of the straps kept slipping. It would be nice for hand held though or carrying on your arm.

But what about a different Speedy—maybe an LE —like Roses or Graffiti? You can totally carry those everyday–or at least I would! I wear shorts and flip flops and have been carrying my White MC Speedy constantly (that’s a bit heavier than the reg Speedy though). I wear simple clothes and use LV to “dress” myself up a little.

I’m not a huge fan of the Totally but the PM is pretty nice, (MM seems a bit diaper bagish)–maybe a Totally PM in Azur? And the straps are thicker/sturdier than the NF. You can carry it hand-held, on your arm or on the shoulder. You should try that one out.

Well what you’ve presented is two different things: shoulder vs hand carry / zipper vs open-top. Depends what you want. Personally I’d go the Speedy. But then I have others on my wishlist too… Good luck!

Hi! I posted this in the pochette clubhouse but no lookers yet. So trying you wonderful ladies here… I am curious about adding a longer bag strap to a pochette for cross-body or shoulder wear. I want to use a speedy 30 idylle fusain shoulder strap, on a matching idylle pochette accessoires which I’m thinking of getting instead of an Eva. For occasional nights out. The pochette’s about 7 x 5. A good match but does this combo make other LV’ers cringe?? I think it looks kind of nice when the pochette chain hangs down and there is a shoulder strap added. But not sure if it’s a no-no. Pochette’s strictly for the wrist? Any thoughts TPF’ers? Thanks!!

I’d much rather see a pochette on a long strap than when it is used as a purse using the little leather strap it comes with.

You know, I think it probably depends partially on the strap. The strap has to be thin enough as to not overwhelm the bag. Personally, i would wait for the Eva.

I’m late, but I just bought a pochette and a strap for those times that I don’t feel like carrying anything. My strap is called the Bandouliere J00145 for 185USD It’s a single, thin strap, and I love it! Even my boyfriend thinks it’s cute! I was thinking of adding a bag charm lol… but that’s a whole other topic.

I bought an eva, but I started using the strap on my mono pochette when we go to the amusement park. I love it so much, that I also bought an azur pochette to carry with the strap. It’s so cute and casual, and that way I can keep my eva nice for dressing up a little.
I use my eva strap with my pochette all the time.
I’ve used my Eva strap on both my Mono & Azur pochette’s all the time.
I would certainly say go for it.

Small bags on long straps have always been an acceptable “style”, haven’t they?

And as for the little strap hanging down … 1) if it were such a faux pas, LV wouldn’t have made the Eva like that, 2) other designers do that style too (small strap hanging down), and 3) I have some small Coach pouches I do the exact same thing with. So if it’s that bad, someone better tell me too.

Speaking more generally, I think that as bags have become bigger and bigger over the last years, those who have wanted to carry smaller bags have often done this sort of thing. And doing it for a “night out” would be even more common. I think it’s probably done more often than you think.

If you already have a speedy I would suggest the delightful since it’s a newer style bag and it hasn’t been around that long. Or the neverfull in damier ebene.
Someone told me that the mono canvas is harder to look after, It always rains where i live … would this be a problem ?

Since you already have a hobo and a tote in other brands, maybe you should get the Speedy 30 in Ebene…
Get the Speedy in Ebene, especially if it rains a lot where you live. You wont have to worry about it getting wet and there’s a zipper top to protect your things.

Given the weather, Ebene is the way to go. I’d say Speedy since you have shoulder bags/hobos. It’s a classic.

Ebene speedy or ebene Neverfull for weather. Would look great with your dark hair. 3rd choice Delightful PM for you, if rain is a problem, but it’s a great monogram shoulder bag choice. Can’t go wrong with all choices. Good luck!
I think the speedy would be a nice change for me but i am seriously worried about it getting to heavy, I mean i don’t really walk around for long periods of time so i guess this might not be a problem …

What is your personal opinion on the Neverfull in Ebene, As it’s a combo i am not to sure about !! monogram handbags.

I wish I would stop looking around . Dh will buy me a new LV, still deciding on which one, then I see a designer bag (Dooney and Burke florentine satchel) which is much less money than a LV and wonder if I do buy the D and B, will I be annoyed that I didn’t get the LV?? Somebody shake some sense into me, lol!! Has anyone else felt this way?
I say buy what you love no matter what brand! If there isn’t an LV right now that’s calling your name, then get the DB.
I have the D&B Florentine Satchel and I thinking about selling it. I got my mono speedy 30 after the D&B and I like the speedy better. The D&B is very heavy and difficult to get things in and our of. The D&B is a beautiful bag and the quality of the leather is great. I think I may sell it to help fund a speedy b 30. Also I feel that LV will hold it’s value better. Good luck deciding, as both LVs and the D&B Satchel are beautiful bags!

Thank you for posting!!! That the D&B is heavy is what I need to hear, I’m loving satchel/hand helds lately and a heavy bag would annoy me no matter what the brand. The leather looks so, so gorgeous though!! speedy 30 with strap, Debating LV or another brand .

I just got my year end bonus and realized it was a little more than I anticipated () and I’ve been meaning to get a new spring/summer bag.

I think Azur is perfect for spring/summer. I’ve been really drawn to the Siracusa PM and Azur Speedy 30.

I’m awful at decisions – what do you think? Siracusa? Speedy? Another?

What’s in your current collection? If you already have a speedy, then go for the siracusa.
Siracusa is ADORABLE! Azur Speedy is too though. It would probably be a better fit for an all day bag. Go for Siracusa if space isnt a requirement.
I just saw the Siracusa and really like the shape, but I love the Speedy too I guess it really depends if you are more of handheld or shoulder/crossbody kind of girl! Hmmmmm, I know its a hard decision but if it were me I’d probably go with the Speedy 30.
